To date, a record number of parks and green spaces have collected a ‘Green Flag Award’

Farnborough Business Park has been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the very best in the world.

The park / green space is among a record-breaking 1,797 UK parks and green spaces that will today receive a prestigious Green Flag Award– the mark of a quality park or green space.

This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.

Farnborough Business Park Facilities Service Director Paul Robins said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the second year running.

“We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining Farnborough Business Park to such a high standard.

International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme.

“Each flag is a celebration of the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. The success of the scheme, especially in these challenging times, demonstrates just how much parks matter to people.”

In May & June Farnborough Business Park tenants once again showed their support for CMPP by purchasing raffle tickets for the CMPP ‘Grand Prize Draw’. Tickets were on sale in Receptions and some of the companies on-site. We sold over 400 tickets and many wonderful prizes were donated by CMPP Partners and business in the local area. 10 people from the Business Park won prizes which was great!

On Friday 23rd June 2017, members of the FBP Facilities Team attended ‘A Night at the Races’ for CMPP’s Summer Social. The annual event organised by CMPP welcomed just over 130 delegates. The Village Hotel kindly hosted the event in their Inspiration Suite and put on a delicious ‘racing’ buffet to tie in with horse racing season.

The event saw the culmination of CMPP’s annual Grand Prize Draw which helps the partnership to raise funds for the Youth Aspirations Fund (YAF). The best dressed table award went to Farnborough Business Park, we decorated our table in true race theme, with horses and rosettes to give it that Royal Ascot feel.

This year’s event raised a staggering £8,618. which includes the total from the Grand Prize Draw, delegates betting at the night, race sponsorship and ticket sales to the event. All funds from the evening will contribute to the Youth Aspirations Fund (YAF).

Applications to CMPP’s YAF open every October to local community groups, charities, not for profits, schools and individuals who may apply for funding for projects that will help raise aspirations in local young people. So far, the YAF has benefited 34 projects, totalling £57,467.00 and countless more value in kind via our volunteering and skills sharing initiatives.

CMPP – Community Matters Partnership Project recently held their yearly Twilight Runway Challenge at TAG Airport Farnborough on a beautiful summers evening.

Competitors from FBP entered this fantastic fundraising event to help raise much needed funds to help children / teenagers in the local area.

The Challenge took place at 8.30pm on a Saturday evening in July when the Airport had closed and people of all ages took part in a run, walk, cycle or skate around the 3, 5 & 10 kilometre options. All 500 places were sold out before the event, proving it a very popular activity in the area.

Tenants at Farnborough Business Park enjoyed taking part in a Gardening Event held at lunchtime. Our on-site Landscape team ‘Nurture’ hosted the event which gave people the opportunity to make up a summer hanging basket, a potted basket of herbs or a floral bouquet.

All materials were supplied and we asked for nominal donations to participate. In all over 120 people joined in the fun and we raised an amazing £500! This fundraising was presented to Rushmoor Borough Council. The money will help go towards funding for their ‘Megarider Scheme’.

This scheme gives low income families the chance to apply for a free pass for the long summer holidays. Young people, aged 11–16 years, are entitled to bus travel and range of leisure offers, including free swimming at Farnborough Leisure Centre and Aldershot Pools.

The Business Park are very pleased to be able to assist with this great scheme.

Representatives from Farnborough Business Park Facilities, Red Hat and RBS recently attended the 7th CMPP Community Minds Networking Event.

50+ local businesses, schools, colleges, corporates and small/medium businesses attended the morning event.

These inspirational networking events are aimed at bringing like-minded businesses together with schools, colleges, youth groups and not for profit organisations, interested in their local community.

The Easter Bunny paid a visit to Farnborough Business Park!

Children of our occupiers and from our on-site Busy Bees Nursery took part in this fun event.
The under 5’s collected tokens which were hidden and then the Easter Bunny rewarded everyone with a yummy Easter egg! The children and adults enjoyed this festive event which was organised by our on-site Nurture Landscape team http: www.nurture-group.co.uk

A very big thank you to all who came along.

A very BIG Thank you to our occupiers who so generously helped by donating items to Farnborough/Aldershot Food Banks as part of the CMPP Lent Food Drive. In particular we would like to thank the facilities team and our occupiers Red Hat and Fiscal Reps for their generosity. We delivered the items to the Food Bank Depot and the volunteers were very grateful. Many items of food and 91 Easter Eggs were donated!

The items will be sorted and distributed around the local community to those less fortunate than ourselves.

Our tenants generosity proved no-bounds when we recently launched a clothes collection.

We asked people to donate unwanted clothing which they no-longer need. This initiative was launched by CMPP & Rushmoor Borough Council. The appeal was for clothing for children, babies, men and women. There was also a focus on clothes suitable for interview wear which our tenants Red Hat were particularly involved with. Rushmoor Borough Council will be sorting the clothing and taking them to various clothes exchanges. This includes the PEBL Skills Café on the Prospect Estate, Farnborough. A very worthwhile cause to help our local community.

A big thank you to all who donated.

Spring is in the air! FBP occupiers were recently invited to visit a Spring / Mother’s Day market which was held on the ground floor of The Hub.

Glorious sunshine accompanied people while they browsed and shopped a selection of stalls. We had some of our favourites and a couple of new ones including Stella & Dot, Puzzle Design Jewellery, Just Love Studio, Mummy Makes Fudge & Art of Memories.
