On Thursday 19th and Friday 20th July, occupiers at Farnborough Business Park were able to experience a Tesla Model X and S. Worth over £150,000 and with speeds of 0-60 in 2.5 seconds occupiers took to the roads to launch the cars and feel the power behind these electric vehicles.

After enjoying their ride occupiers were able to enter a charity prize draw to win a weekend car hire of one these Tesla cars. We had over 190 entries raising a grand total of £190, and the winner of the weekend car hire was Paul Rowlands from Harmonic.

Huge thanks go to Tesla for donating the car hire which allowed us to raise funds in such a fantastically fun way! Funds raised from the event will be donated to The Community Matters Partnership Project, which is a collaboration of local businesses, organisations and people, working together to benefit the local community, with a focus on raising aspirations in young people.

On Thursday 7 June 2018, occupiers at Farnborough Business Park turned their fingers green and took part in ‘Grow Your Own’, whilst raising funds for The Community Matters Partnership Project (CMPP).

This event, run by our brilliant and talented on-site landscape team, Nurture, raised an amazing £430 which will go directly to CMPP’s Youth Aspiration Fund (YAF). The fund grants between £500 – £2000 to local charities and projects to support their work to raise the aspirations of our young people in the local area.

Occupiers could choose between 3 brilliant workshops led by our skilled team which included a masterclass in how to hand tie bouquets, a lesson on how to create the perfect hanging basket and the technic for creating the perfect range of potted herbs.

Tenants donated just £4 per workshop and were supplied with all the tools and expert advice they needed to allow them to create a well-crafted finished article which was theirs to take home.

Farnborough Business Park’s Security team have been recognised as TSG’s Team of the year for 2017.

Dan Holsburt took over in early October 2017 as Security Manager, following in the footsteps of the previous manager who had been on site for some 20 years. Dan has taken to the role exceptionally well and has changed the dynamics and exposure of the team whom are now much more active around the site. Dan himself has driven the team’s performance forward since taking over and says The Team have all been a massive help this year covering all the requirements and assisting to ensure an efficient and effectively run operation.

In reaching a decision, TSG had to consider a number of factors. Having several business parks and multi-man sites that run exceptionally well and reviewing their performance and output over the year can sometimes be difficult. Criteria for this award covers all the basic measurable criteria of client feedback, KPI scores, absences, issues on site, incidents an so; however, we also consider any changes in the team and changes in how they are perceived.

In this instance, they had to consider the work ethic of the staff on site, how they assist the operation at times of need, how they show great dedication to the site and importantly a constant desire to provide the best service. Staff are taking up the e-learning modules and are always keen to see what is coming next. This, with the notable change since Dan has taken up the manager’s role with his approach and attitude, is what has helped with that final decision. Dan and the team will continue to grow and prove an asset and great ambassadors for both TSG and Farnborough Business Park.

Sunday 21st January was an important date for the Farnborough Business Park as it hosted the second Farnborough Half Marathon, returning after a sell-out first edition run by 2:09 events.

The start and finish area, was again under the famous Airship hangar in the Business Park, which now stands as a monument to the past, as a great piece of industrial art.

Entirely traffic free, the Farnborough half is now one of the flattest, fastest routes in the South. The 5km Fun Run also took place, open to all runners over the age of 8 years, and for 2018 the introduction of a Kiddies Run for 5 to 8 year olds.

Many of those who took part in the race were in support of some worthy local charities such as Phyliss Tuckwell Hospice Care, a charity in Farnham supporting and caring for patients and families who are living with cancer, or other terminal illnesses. Step by Step, a local Aldershot-based charity helping homeless young adults get their lives back on track.

Farnborough Business Park would like to thank all those that participated in, and contributed to, this very successful event.
